EWALD LOHR July 30th, 1922 - May 11th, 2000 It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Ewald (Ed) Lohr on May 11th, 2000. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Nicole (nee Gaudet). He leaves behind his cherished family, daughter Patricia Dinson, Alan Dinson and their sons, Marc and Christopher; son Daniel and wife Janice and their children, Jennifer and Michael; daughter Chantal Webb (of Victoria, BC) and son-in-law Jamie and their children Maggie and Alex, daughter Christine Lohr (100 Mile House, BC) and son-in-law Richard, son Joel and daughter-in-law Lidia and their children, Jennifer and Cameron. Ewald was one of eight children born to Michael and Emilie Lohr in Reetz, Germany. He and his wife Nicole married in France and immigrated to Canada in 1951 where they settled in St. Boniface. Ewald then established Seine Construction Company in partnership with his brother Samuel. After living in St. Boniface for 41 years, he retired to Victoria, BC in 1992. He will always be remembered as a honest and loving family man. His children were encouraged to pursue education and were fortunate to benefit personally from the vast knowledge he had gained during his remarkable life. He shared these interests and his own colourful history with friends and family through his vivid storytelling.
